Sunday School

Sunday School for all ages is offered at 11:00am every Sunday, September-May, in the Gym during the school year.  Contact Tana Tatnall or the church office for more information.

L.I.F.E. Groups

Small groups provide a safe place to share life, learn about God, and grow in relationship with Him and others as modeled in in Acts chapter 2.  At Glen Ellyn Covenant, we seek to connect every member to our "L.I.F.E. group" small group ministry. L.I.F.E. groups are small groups of adults that gather regularly to:

L Learn, by studying the Bible together, seeing its truth, and applying its relevance
I Intercede, by praying together bearing one another's burdens, and caring for each other
F  Fellowship, by serving together, sharing life, and extending the love of Christ
E Encourage, by growing together, developing deep friendships, and utilizing one another's gifts

Do you need help finding a L.I.F.E. group?  Contact Barb Martin or the church office for more information.

Men's Ministry

Men of the church meet every Saturday, year-round, 8:00-9:30am in Munson Hall for study, prayer, and fellowship together.  Coffee provides extra incentive to start your weekend in the Word!

A small group of men meets for prayer every Wednesday morning 7:00-8:00am in the sanctuary.

Another group, the "Thursday Morning Guys," meets Thursday mornings 8:00-9:00am in the atrium for prayer and discussion.  Visitors are always welcome!

We also schedule occasional social events and service projects, and enjoys attending Moody Bible Institute's annual Walk Worthy conference together each Spring.

Contact Roger Lautz, or the church office for more information about our Men's Ministries.

Women's Ministry

All women of the church, ages 19-100, are invited to get involved in this vital ministry at GEECC.  Join our weekly women's Bible study for a study of the Word, prayer, and fellowship together.  We meet on Saturday mornings at 8:30am at church.

A small group of women also meets 10:00am-noon every Wednesday morning to pray for the needs of the church family.  Attend as you are able -- drop-ins are always welcome!

Social events, outreach opportunities and other activities are scheduled throughout the year.

All women are invited to participate in our Women's Ministries!  Contact Jill Page or the church office for more information.  Pick up up a brochure for current scheduled events and studies at the information center or check out the Women's Ministry bulletin board located in the Higher Grounds coffee area.

Prayer Groups

Members of our congregation meet regularly throughout the week to pray for the needs of the congregation.  If you want to join us, sign up to receive our email prayer list every Tuesday.  Send an email to prayer@gecovenant.org to subscribe.

A small group of men meets every Wednesday morning 7:00-8:00am in the sanctuary.

A small group of women meets every Wednesday morning 10:00am-noon in the church library.

A larger group of men and women meet to pray every Sunday evening 6:00-7:00pm in the sanctuary.

Shawl Ministry

The Shawl Ministry meets weekly to fellowship, to pray and to knit.  We make shawls and give them to people who are facing difficult situations. The shawls symbolize God's loving arms which wrap around us. Each week the group pray for the shawl recipients. During the school year, the Shawl Ministry meets on the first Monday of each month at 1:30 pm in the Library. In the summer, we meet at 9:30 am on Tuesdays.  You do not need to be an experienced knitter--we will teach you.  We also have directions available for making shawls. Are there any crocheters out there who would like to join us and crochet some shawls? Please join us!  Contact Sandy Skowera or the church office for more information.

Care Ministries

We have a very active care ministry team that provides prayer, encouragement, visits, transportation, and meals to people in need in our congregation.  Please let the church office know if you would appreciate a visit.  Volunteers are always needed to help with this important ministry.  Contact Becky Dunlap or the church office for more information.

Library & Book Club

Our church library has cozy reading chairs, a fireplace, and a constantly evolving collection of Christian fiction, history, biography, study, and reference books, as well as magazines and videos.  The library is open every Sunday morning for book checkouts and returns.  Contact Paula Fredrikson or the church office if you wish to access the library during the week.

We also sponsor a book club that meets the 3rd Thursday of each month, September through May, at 7:00 p.m. in individual members' homes. The hostess opens the evening with beverages and snacks. The book club meeting is led by the Discussion Leader who has researched the author and prepares 2-3 questions for informal discussion.   Contact Sharon Thompson or the church office for more information.
