Worship Arts Volunteer Opportunities

Leadership Team Member: Tom Emmering
Staff Liaison: Robin Naylor and Dawn Lauber, Interim Worship Leaders

Chancel Choir

Choir Member

  • Responsibilities: Lead the congregation in worship through the singing of choral anthems and supporting congregational singing.
  • Commitment: Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings 7:00-8:30pm with a Sunday morning warm-up/run-through 8:15am in Munson Hall, September through May.

Worship Band

Worship Band Member

  • Responsibilities: Lead the congregation in worship by supporting congregational singing and presenting specials related to the theme of the worship service.
  • Commitment: Flexible, based on your availability. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 7:30-9:15pm, and Sunday morning commitment is from 8:00-10:30am.

Accompanists

Accompanist

  • Responsibilities: Accompanists are needed for special events, meetings, and other groups.
  • Commitment: Flexible, based on need and your availability.

Multimedia Team

Sound Board Operator

  • Responsibilities: Learn to operate the soundboard for Sunday morning services and other special events. No experience necessary!
  • Commitment: Sound operators serve on a rotating basis, typically working one week each month. During your assigned weeks, attend rehearsal Wednesday evenings 7:00-9:30pm, and run the sound board Sunday morning from 8:00-10:45am.

Projectionist

  • Responsibilities: Learn to operate the projection system for Sunday morning services and other special events. No experience necessary!
  • Commitment: Flexible, based on your availability. Projectionists must arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of the service.

Usher Ministry Team 

Usher Coordinator

  • Responsibilities: Recruit and schedule ushers for services.
  • Commitment: One hour per month to create the schedule.
  • Contact: Kurt Jaderholm

Usher

  • Responsibilities: Friendly, helpful ushers are needed to welcome and seat worshippers, distribute bulletins, receive the offering, and offer information and assistance to visitors.
  • Commitment: Ushers serve in teams of 4-5 people. Commit to serve alternating months during the worship service, 9:00am Sunday morning.  Arrive 15-20 minutes before the service starts.

Communion Team 

Communion Coordinator

  • Responsibilities: Recruit and organize volunteers to prepare and serve communion one Sunday each month.
  • Commitment: Two hours each month to recruit servers, plus four hours on Sunday morning to coordinate the communion team.

Communion Server

  • Responsibilities: Help serve this important sacrament, and help with cleanup.
  • Commitment: Flexible, based on your availability. Communion is served approximately one Sunday each month. 4-6 people serve during each service.

Communion Baker

  • Responsibilities: Bake the communion bread for communion Sunday, once each month.
  • Commitment: Four hours each month.

Communion Prayer Team Member

  • Responsibilities: Pray for people who come forward for prayer during Holy Communion, and anoint those requesting prayer for healing (James 5:13-16).
  • Commitment: Flexible, based on your availability. Communion is typically served approximately once each month.

Tribe of Dan

Tribe of Dan Team Member

  • Responsibilities: Named after one of the twelve tribes of Israel that was appointed by the Lord to make all of the furnishings and holy garments for the temple (Exodus chapter 31), this team develops creative ideas to enhance worship through art, music, liturgy, prayer, and other means.  This group is responsible to the worship committee, worship leaders and the pastor.
  • Commitment: Flexible, based on your availability.  Individuals can commit to the entire year, a season of the church calendar, or a specific project.

The list above only reflects the worship arts ministry teams that are currently on-going. We are always looking for refreshing, new, and creative ways to enhance the worship experience.
