Leadership Team Member: Eric Pierce

Financial Management Committee

Treasurer

  • Responsibilities: The Treasurer is responsible for all disbursements, account management tasks, and quarterly business meeting reports. Coordinates preparation of the annual budget. Administers contracts and insurance policies. Chairs the Financial Management Committee. Cooperates with all requirements from the Audit Team. Finance and/or bookkeeping experience is extremely helpful for this position.
  • Commitment: Average one hour per week most weeks. Approximately two hours prep time for monthly Leadership Team meetings and Quarterly congregational meetings. Heaviest time commitment is at years’ end, and at the beginning of the new year when the new annual budget is being prepared.
  • Note: The Treasurer is nominated by the SErvant Resources Team, is elected by the congregation, and may serve up to three one-year terms. Only members are eligible to serve in this position.

Financial Management Committee Member

  • Responsibilities: Volunteers with experience in finance, bookkeeping, insurance, and/or administration are needed to periodically meet with the Treasurer to assist with budget, financial, and insurance issues and policies. If you want to better understand our church’s policies, priorities, and finances, this committee offers a great way to get involved.
  • Commitment: Committee meets several times per year as needed.

Financial Recording Team

Financial Recording Secretary

  • Responsibilities: The Financial Recording Secretary ensures that all contributions are counted and appropriately recorded, establishes counting team processes, oversees the safe, ensures that appropriate counting software is in place, distributes periodic giving reports, interfaces with the Director of Administration to reconcile bank deposits, provides contribution analysis information to the Leadership Team, and serves on the Financial Management Committee. The Financial Recording Secretary must be responsible, trustworthy, detail-oriented, and be able to maintain confidentiality. Book keeping experience is extremely helpful.
  • Note: The Financial Recording Secretary is appointed by the Leadership Team. Only members are eligible to serve in this position.

Counting Team Member

  • Responsibilities: Responsible, detail-oriented volunteers who can be trusted to maintain confidentiality are needed to count and record the weekly offering. No financial or bookkeeping experience is necessary, but attention to detail is critical.
  • Commitment:  Each volunteer is assigned to a 3-person counting team which is responsible for counting the offering approximately once every six weeks. Scheduling is flexible, but most teams meet for approximately two hours Monday or Tuesday afternoon or evening.

Auditor Team

Audit Team Member

  • Responsibilities: Detail-oriented volunteers are needed to work with this 4-person team to audit the church’s financial records. Bookkeeping experience is very helpful.
  • Commitment: The auditors meet for a few hours one evening in September, and five to eight hours  in January.
  • Note: Auditors are nominated by the Servant Resources Team, elected by the congregation, and may serve up to two two-year terms. Only members are eligible to serve in this position.
