Ministries in our Community

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.”  — Matthew 25:35-36

Our congregation seeks to be obedient to the commands of Jesus to go and make disciples of all nations: in our community, throughout the region, and to the ends of the earth.  We encourage everyone to get involved in one of the local ministries that our church supports!

Evangelical Child and Family Association
ECFA is an evangelical Christian social services agency that provides adoption services, pregnancy counseling and care, family counseling, and child welfare services. Be an adoptive or foster parent, or consider housing pregnant women in need. Be a mentor or tutor, assist with administrative tasks, serve as an evening or Saturday receptionist, or staff a 24-hour phone service from your home.  Visit www.evancfa.org or contact Randy or Judy Johnson.

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship
Assist the IVCF staff worker at College of Dupage in planning monthly events, periodically staff information tables, host international students for a meal, meet with students for encouragement, Bible study and prayer, or serve with others from our church in outreach to this campus.  Contact Lina Sánchez-Herrera.

Outreach Community Ministries
Outreach Community Ministries brings people together in relationships that help them grow to become all that God intends them to be.  The greatest need is at the Community Outreach Center in Carol Stream, where you can help tutor students of all ages. Big Buddies are adults that commit a few hours a month to building a friendship with a needy child. Or serve as a receptionist one evening a week or do minor repairs.  Visit http://www.outreachcommunityministries.com/ or contact Tom Emmering.

Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS)
Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS) provides temporary food and shelter for homeless men and women in DuPage County. Our church coordinates volunteers to help out with this ministry at Grace Lutheran Church in Glen Ellyn every third Thursday night during the winter months.  We partner with other churches to provide food and shelter for PADS clients at our church on Friday nights during the summer months.  Look for PADS sign-up sheets for the opportunity to help with meals, set-up, clean-up, etc. and get involved.  Visit http://www.dupagepads.org or contact Marilyn Sweeny.

Repeat Boutique
Repeat Boutique provides clothing for missionaries on furlough, refugee families and others in need.  Donate clothing as well as household and kitchen items. Volunteer to assist clients, accept donations, size and stock clothing, and organize items for display. Help with computers, bookkeeping, driving, carpentry, and recycling. Contact: Jay Carstenbrock.

World Relief Dupage
World Relief aims to help victims of war, terror, and persecution build new lives in freedom — providing assistance with housing, food, clothing, and other essentials, and helping refugees find employment. Be an in-class aide (one morning or evening/week) for English classes taught to newcomers to the country. Become a friendship partner and meet weekly with a refugee family new to our culture. Help meet the needs of refugee families in our area by providing tutoring, transportation and general assistance.  Visit http://dupage.wr.org or contact Lisa Nelson or Marilyn Sweeny.
